Solid Foundations

Notes from a preacher's kid turned skeptic: To me, life is most beautiful and meaningful when we accept it for what it really is, with compassion and understanding, not for what we think it will become in some other-worldly alternative reality.
Morality's foundation is simply the need for survival and mutual happiness, which requires civil respect, sensible laws, and a certain commonly agreed upon moral code.
Reaching outside the real world, into a world heavy on intuition and inner "transformational" experience, as is commonly done whenever "conversion" is the issue, pretty much leaves the field wide open, don't you think?
